Girardin Vincent Meursault Charmes du Dessus Premiere Cru 2005

Member Review by Quentin4:

The nose is a typical Meursault with notes of pear, citrus and peach. At first, the minerality dominates with a silex-like style, giving way to a beautiful round structure with well integrated oak flavours of vanilla and butter. Even though this wine might have sweetness in its mid palate and finish, it remains "lifted" in the mouth and makes you want to drink more. A very good example of Vincent Girardin's ever consistent white wines. QC http://www.questionofwine.blogspot.com

Vincent’s red wines are profound and intense, balancing the tannins and the ripe fruit. These wines demonstrate fullness of structure, with unmistakable grandeur, without any astringency. Success in winemaking requires a rigour and attention to detail at all times for each individual wine. Because each wine has its own specific characteristics, the right technical decisions by the winemaker are essential. Read less

Medium yellow. Subdued but pure aromas of lemon and butter. Fat, sweet and broad but less racy than the Genevrieres, with a note of hazelnut. In the very rich style of the vintage. Quite ripe and full in the middle and sweet and long on the back, fin... Stephen Tanzer. A Chardonnay wine from Burgundy in France. 2005 Girardin, Vincent Meursault Charmes du Dessus 1er Cru 750ml
