Ginestet Margaux 2004

Member Review by duncan 906:

I bought this bottle of wine a while ago from a wine merchant in Sussex and I think I paid around £10 for it. Margaux is the largest AOC on the Medoc peninsular and the home of 18 cru classe in the famous 1855 classification. My bottle is not one of them but a negociant wine from the House of Ginestet. but I have been unable to find out much detail about it such as the cepagement though it is obviously a blend of merlot and one or both of the cabernets. I started the bottle last night with my supper of roast pork and I did enjoy it. There is plenty of blackcurrant and plum style fruit there and the tannins are soft but hold things together nicely. Overall, I would say this was a good bottle of wine.
