Giesen Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

The Giesen Estate Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012 is pale yellow in colour with green hues. There are strong aromas of grapefruit, gooseberry and crushed herbs with a delicate mix of tomato and blackcurrant leaf. The palate has wonderful vibrancy and fruit weight, perfectly balanced with crisp and clean acidity culminating in a lengthy finish.

Sweet but crisp. Mildly sparkly. Refreshing. Excellent with white meat and Mediterranean dishes.

A great range of aromas and flavors that seem to change and evolve in the glass. We get citrus, crushed herbs and a distinctive gooseberry lift with green notes reminiscent of fresh pea pods but also a sweet leafy boxwood aroma. On the palate there are flavors of grapefruit and red capsicum where mid palate fruit sweetness is balanced by a fresh, lively citrus acidity.

Classic nettle and gooseberry flavours combine with dry, citrus flavours on a medium bodied palate. Focused acidity provides length and a refreshing zest to the finish.

A vivid, racy white, featuring grapefruit, lime and green apple notes that are juicy and refreshing. Light-bodied and extremely focused. Drink now.

Floral, spicy high tones to the aromas of peach, dried herbs and licorice. Not a fleshy style but juicy and suave, with good penetration and spicy lift to the tropical fruit and citrus flavors. Very easy to drink.

Very pale yellow. Aromas of grapefruit pith, mint, spices and peppery, plus a light tropical fruit note. Silky in texture but also juicy and bright, with good flesh and density. Finishes peppery and persistent.

Light, bright and refreshing, more citrusy than herbal, with pretty lemon and tangerine notes echoing on the delicate finish.

Crisp, juicy and appealing for its lively apple, nectarine and citrus flavors, hinting at passion fruit on the zingy finish. Drink now.
