Giesen Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2008

External Review by Premier Wine & Spirits:

Tart and peppery, with herb-scented pear and black pepper flavors, all of them persisting on the lively finish. Drink now.

Expressive aromas of melon, spice, fresh herbs, chalk and tangy soft citrus fruits. Rich but ripe, with vibrant flavors of orange zest and lemon oil. Leanish and firm-edged. Impressively persistent, palate-cleansing aftertaste features a strong lime flavor.

Crisp, juicy and appealing for its lively apple, nectarine and citrus flavors, hinting at passion fruit on the zingy finish. Drink now.

Light, bright and refreshing, more citrusy than herbal, with pretty lemon and tangerine notes echoing on the delicate finish.

Aromas of lemon, grapefruit and passionfruit, plus touches of fresh green grass, dazzle the olfactory. The German word "giessen" means "to water," an appropriate homophone. The rush of vibrant fruit and lively acidity is enough to quench any wine lover's thirst for layered citrus refreshment. The dry, bracing core finishes very cleanly, with a flourish of light grapefruit.

Very pale yellow. Aromas of grapefruit pith, mint, spices and peppery, plus a light tropical fruit note. Silky in texture but also juicy and bright, with good flesh and density. Finishes peppery and persistent.
