The last bottle from my original case, this was bitter-sweet because the 2005 Bruno Giacosa Dolcetto has long been my favorite Dolcetto. Deep, dark purple color. Floral nose backed with blackberry, fall leaves and a bit of citrus rind. On the palate a mix of blackberry jam with a sweet vanilla mid-palate and a cranberry finish that really keeps it interesting. Fresh and lively, however the acidity is beginning to take over this bottle. I believe this will continue to decline from here, which is why I opened my last one... that being said, I enjoyed it immensely. A great bottle of Dolcetto.
