Lovely dark and rich ruby red. The nose is all Barolo for me, dark fruits, plummy, sweet, a little spicy with a nice mineral quality. The palate is really full and fruity, lush and thick with more of those dark fruits coming through on great silky tannis, really good finish to this wine, terrific length. The 2001 is a really solid effort, very satisfying

This is a bright and focused red with plum, berry and lightly toasted oak. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long, caressing finish. This shows class and strength. Best after 2007. 1,200 cases made. -JS Wine Spectator. A Nebbiolo wine from Piedmont in Italy. 2001 Bruno Giacosa Barolo Falletto 750ml

Winemaker's Notes:

The 2001 Barolo Falletto displays a more deeply colored, rich translucent ruby color. It opens with a sweet, balsamic nose of spices, oak, and minerals, and is packed with layers of deep, dark fruit that gradually open to reveal themselves on a big, strapping frame, with outstanding length and a beautiful note of freshness to cap off the finish. An Azienda Agricola Falletto di Bruno Giacosa bottling. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2023.
