What to Expect

Nebbiolo is a fickle grape famed as much for its pale appearance as for its tannic character and produces some of the most perfumed and richly flavored wines. Though generally only medium-bodied, the wines possess rose and anise scented aromatics and deep flavors of cherry, orange peel and subtle green herb tones.

Winemakers Notes

Dark ruby red in color. Subtle and reserved on the nose, with blackberry, tea, sandalwood and blueberry. Opens to coffee and vanilla bean. Full-bodied, with an amazing, condensed palate of ultra-ripe fruit and silky tannins. Fresh and superlong. Very tight and fresh. Needs so much time to open and come around.

Nose is somewhat reticent but if you sniff and move your glass around you get some roses, iron, spice, hazelnut & some hints of iodine. Very velvety texture and extreme concentration with some big-time clamping down tannins on the finish. The fruit is there but only hints at what is to come. Remarkable quality but when will this be ready?
