A great performance from this beauty tonight. Medium red color in the glass. The nose is almost smoky with plum, savory broth, mushrooms and moist earth. On the palate a full body with raspberry, fig, more mushroom and a sweet mid-palate of red fruit that carries this wines brisk acidity to the end. The finish is long and fresh with cherry and cedar.

This estate was founded in the early 20th Century by Giacomo's father, Giovanni Conterno. Since its birth, the estate has fashioned some of the most beautiful and traditional wines of the Piedmont. The Barbera, especially in magnum form, has excellent structure and the potential to age for decades.
