Giacomo Borgogno & Figli Barolo Riserva 1952

Winemaker's Notes:

Sheldon & Pauline Wassermann: Beautiful orange robe; typical seaweed aroma of an old Barolo; round and smooth, at or near its peak; fairly long finish. (1985)

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

The nose was lively with pretty floral aromatics, dried berries and masses of rose with floral undergrowth. On the palate, sweet red berries with a touch of cinnamon stick washed vibrantly against the senses with inner floral notes lasting through the finish. This was a beautiful performance for this wine.
