Food Pairings for Gewurztraminer
Winemaker's Notes:
Atwater Estate's 2006 Gewürztraminer is made in the Alsatian-style - low in residual sugar, with a higher alcohol content. Its unmistakable bouquet displays notes of tangerine, rose petals, and grapefruit. Our Gewürztraminer vines are situated on the southwest slope of our farm to maximize solar exposure, which produces a high natural sugar content and raises the alcohol during fermentation.
Tasting Notes:
Distinctively aromatic, this variety’s heady bouquet is as unforgettable as its name. Our dry “Gewürz” displays sensual notes of rose petal and white peppercorn. Exquisite with food, this wine is a favorite complement to spicy and Asian Cuisine and is glorious with everything on the Thanksgiving table (from turkey to turnips!).
