Gerstacker Nurnberger Markt Gluhwein

Member Review by Slipstream:

Purchased in 2008. This was a nice treat for a cold night. Better served hot or warm. An average wine tarted up with some spices (clove and citrus, e.g.) to give it a nice sour-sweet-aromatic flavor. My friend Shred says the best way to have gluhwein is at an outdoor market in Germany on a December evening.

It is a great wine.. different from the rest. You warm this wine and drink it like a cider. Awesome, warms you from your head to your toe. Great on a cold winter night

Five glasses

Gluwhein, meaning “Glow Wine,” is a German mulled wine. A blend of red wine, sugar, and spices, it is recommended served warm (be careful to avoid boiling during heating), or iced. Citrus and cinnamon are prominent flavors.
