Gerard Mugneret Bourgogne 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

The range of wines at Domaine Gérard Mugneret begins with both a Bourgogne Passetoutgrains and a lovely Bourgogne rouge. Like all of Monsieur Mugneret’s wines, the grapes are completely destemmed and given a couple of days pre-fermentation maceration (à la Henri Jayer and his cousins, Marie-Christine and Marie-Andrée Mugneret of Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg) to set the colors and release more aromatic complexity prior to the start of fermentation. The village wines see a modicum of new oak (anywhere from ten to fifteen percent, depending on the style of the vintage), and bottled fifteen to eighteen months after the vintage.
