User Reviews for Gérard Bertrand Rivesaltes Legend Vintage

Winemaker's Notes:

From Gerard Bertrand, this 1945 "Legend Vintage" Rivesaltes has been matured in wooden casks for over fifty years. Amber in color, this French dessert wine from the Languedoc-Roussillon region is a clear amber color. On the nose, woody aromas with hints of chocolte, prunes and almonds. On the palate, flavors of prunes, orange, caramel and vanilla. Powerful and well-structured, it will pair quite well with chocolate dishes."For any serious fan of Rivesaltes, this is a must-have example. Aromas of dried apricot, toasted hazelnut, fig, ginger, sweet spice and candied orange rind fill the bouquet, while the mouth is silky and balanced, sweet and heady without being cloying. All of the aromas transition onto the palate alongside accents of walnut skins and shiitake mushroom. Soft salinity makes the long finish even more mouthwatering." -Wine Enthusiast (95 Points)
