Georges Vigouroux Malbec Rose Pigmentum 2013

External Review:

Hailing from Cahors in southwestern France where the hot, dry climate and limestoneterroir is perfect for Malbec. Dryer and more structured than Argentine Malbec, thisfull-bodied, earthy red pairs very nicely with meat, poultry and hard, flavorful cheeses.

A great summer sipper, lots of raspberry and a touch of flowers on the nose, big strawberry and raspberry flavor with lots of bright acidity. Great value!

A very dark magenta-colored rosé that gives away what is to be found inside the bottle. Deep flavors of raspberry and black cherry fill the palate with a somewhat creamy texture for a rosé wine.

"I love rosé in the summer when it sizzles, I love rosé in the winter when it drizzles." With apologies to Cole Porter, this describes my feelings about rosé! The Pigmentum is from Cahors, a city in South West France which was founded by Celts, and the original home of the Malbec grape, from which this is made. Deep strawberry in color, it is a fresh, juicy wine with flavors of strawberry, cherry and spice and a luscious finish. Enjoy this charming wine with pasta salad, grilled sausage or goat cheese pizza.

A fruity style, showing berry, melon and cherry flavors that feature hints of beef and spice, with a juicy finish. Drink now.

Don't be fooled into thinking Argentina has a monopoly on great Malbec rosé! Hailing from the Cahors area of southwestern France, Pigmentum's rosé is as serious as they come - fragrant strawberry and rose notes, zippy acidity and a clean finish. Serve chilled with a range of aperitifs or garden salads.

Black as a night, with a garnet glimmer at the edges. Aromas of black cherries and wet stones continue on the palate, where additional notes of mulberry, star anise and minerals emerge. Full-bodied and mouth coating, with beautifully integrated tannis that will allow this dark beauty several years of positive evolution. Classic Cahors.
