This is an interesting wine because when I first smell it, it reminded me of cake batter with raw eggs in them! The cake batter had hints of blueberries and light green spice in it. When I drank it, it is light-medium bodied with taste of blueberries, plum, vanilla cake batter with hint of hillside flowers and a certain greenness to it. it is lightly acidic with a soft tannins, well balanced overall. Refreshingly young. I can definitely see it as a good wine after abit of aging. Even after an hour, the taste lingered and I remember the smell so clearly! Its pretty impressive in that sense! It makes you want to go back and have a taste again! I increased half a rating because of that. The label on mine is different from the one here although it seems to be the same wine! It has more on its label saying special cuvee etc and it is pink and silver.

Very typical of this mass produced Beaujolais Nouveau. Very light and playful just like the celebration. Easily obtainable and ready to drink now. Very fruity and a grape juice like feel. Very sweet with almost a watered-down nature to it. Always fun to get and try every year but nothing special from any of the years before.

2011 - Bright strawberry hue, aromas of pomegranates, bubblegum and strawberries; lively flavor notes of Jolly Rancher strawberry, sour cherry and fruity red raspberry with a hint of banana, having surprisingly broad mouth-feel and a moderate finish.

Bubblegum and pear nose. Bright, fresh tones. Richly flavored with bright, purple fruit. Gamy blackberry, plum and cherry. 11/19/11

The 2011 vintage just didn't seem as good as recent years. Other people at the tasting agreed. Had another wine makers version which people agreed was better, an unknown name to me which I can't recall. I think every year they say this year's wine is a great one, not this year.

Easy to drink. Very fruity. My friend who dislikes most wine liked this one.

A full-bodied wine that shows attractive juicy flavors, raspberry and fresh acidity. The tannins are well balanced.

A firm red, with bright acidity and flavors of raspberry, blackberry and plum, all underscored by a pleasant grapey note. Would be a nice match with light cold cuts. Drink now.

Probably the biggest selling Nouveau, and certainly the best known. A powerful aroma of ripe bananas leads into a palate of bright fresh red berry fruits. The wine is fruity, easy and, with just a touch of tannin, totally ready to drink.

On the nose it offers red berry aromas, redcurrants, strawberries and raspberries. This wine offers a range of excellent dark fruit aromas, with a hint of blackcurrant and black cherry; you can also detect vineyard peaches and violets. On the palate, the Beaujolais Nouveau is delicious, pleasing, unctuous and well balanced with a heartiness and depth that lack neither nobility nor finesse. Its fresh, smooth and soft, with a hearty, full-bodied persistence. Its tannins are soft and elegant, giving the wine a delightful finesse on the palate: Its a solid and serious wine which drew its character from a slow but effective maturity which conferred to this vintage a magnitude that is pleasantly surprising. The Beaujolais Nouveau is luscious and harmonious, with perfect balance. - Winery

The first wine of the vintage, this is a charming rendition of the gamay grape: fresh, fragrant and delightfully fruity. Versatile enough to enjoy with your favorite holiday cuisine.

Ever heard of Beaujolais Nouveau? No? Do you live in a cave? OK, never mind. This is the celebrated, annual first-release of Beaujolais, used as a gauge of the vintage and as a cafeacute; red mdash; usually served with a chill mdash; for millions of Parisians. Its delicious ripe and fresh crushed strawberry flavors are the essence of wine at its most charming and uncomplicated. Released in the late in the fall, this wine is really best suited to the summer, for sipping by the pool.
