I agree with Lynnjp. Picked it up for the same reason. Quick cheap holiday wine to get me past the dreaded dinners and overeating. Well it wasnt fantastic. To be perfectly honest my wife and I didnt even finish the bottle. We had one glass, tried to suck it up and finish it off but just couldnt. Wild uncontrolable tannins with a carnival ride of fruit that had no consistancy. Ive been a fan of the Nouveau in the past and been happier with it. The 2013 was disapointing.

This was an ok wine. I picked it up at the local grocery store as an afterthought due to the marketing :). Thanksgiving Wine! and I thought what the heck, I am trying all different kinds of wine, what not give it a try, I did, and all I can say is, been there, done that, drank it and got the souvenir bottle. I would give a better descriptive tasting note, but I don't feel I have the nose, palate or knowledge to do that. All I can say was that it was ok, but I would not buy it again except for novelty purposes.

Easy to tell this is very young. Very tannic, not a lot of depth of flavor. Very fruit-forward as advertised. My first BVN, but something to baseline against for future years. Picked up at Giant in Nov 2013.

A bit too fruity and sweet even for a BN, not my cup of tea.

Extremely fruit forward as expected. Light bodied with little depth. Aroma of cherry and raspberry. Easy to drink with not much aftertaste. A typical example of Beaujolais Nouveau.

Super fresh grape and flower aromas. Bubblegum. On the palate, it's zippy and super young (of course). Purple fruit. Strawberry. Yeasty, bready finish. Not a fan of Nouveau, but tried it anyway. 78 pts. 11/17/12

This is an interesting wine because when I first smell it, it reminded me of cake batter with raw eggs in them! The cake batter had hints of blueberries and light green spice in it. When I drank it, it is light-medium bodied with taste of blueberries, plum, vanilla cake batter with hint of hillside flowers and a certain greenness to it. it is lightly acidic with a soft tannins, well balanced overall. Refreshingly young. I can definitely see it as a good wine after abit of aging. Even after an hour, the taste lingered and I remember the smell so clearly! Its pretty impressive in that sense! It makes you want to go back and have a taste again! I increased half a rating because of that. The label on mine is different from the one here although it seems to be the same wine! It has more on its label saying special cuvee etc and it is pink and silver.

We are grateful for a lovely "Indian Summer," which amongst other things, helped to produce a harvest that is wonderfully mature and rich in sugar, reaching the same standards as the 2011 and 2012 vintages. The quality of the vintage is promising and the colors are gorgeous with lovely purple reds and violet hued glints. The aromas are sublime with wild strawberries, redcurrants and, in particular, exquisite scents of raspberries. Beaujolais Nouveau 2013 will be a joy to drink! - Winery

Beaujolais nouveau is a red wine made from Gamay grapes produced in the Beaujolais region of France. It is the most popular vin de primeur, fermented for just a few weeks then officially released for sale on the third Thursday of November. This "Beaujolais Day", or "Beaujolais Nouveau Day" sees heavy marketing from the producers, with races to get the first bottles of the vintage to different markets.

Winemaker's Notes:

"Beautiful ruby red colour. A pleasant scent of fresh grapes and small juicy red fruits. This wine will scintilate your palate with the pleasure of an excellent “primeur” ." -Winery

This purplish red wine features cherry, berry, and apple aromas, and intense, tart fruit flavors. Wine writer Donald Rosenberg suggests pairing it with appetizers, pizza, pork, creamy cheeses, or burgers.
