GAZELA is a soft, light and refreshing Vinho Verde that goes well with life. GAZELA is an uncompromising wine, a renewed classic that confirms all the region’s potential to create light and engaging wines, ideal for everyday drinking. HISTORY Since its launch GAZELA has been an important brand in Sogrape´s commercial strategy. Created in 1984, it is a light, fresh and versatile wine, with fruity bouquet and flavour and a slight touch of sugar, in a very attractive whole. It is ideal with meals or on its own as an aperitif. GAZELA was born at the Azevedo Manor and Estate, a magnificent estate purchased by Sogrape in 1982. Located at Lama, near Barcelos, Quinta de Azevedo is ideal for the production of high-quality Vinho Verde. The best regional vine varieties are planted here, especially Loureiro and Pedernã, both recommended for making Vinho Verde. The estate is also equipped with a modern vinification centre, an essential tool for making the company’s quality wines. In the Vinho Verde region, and apart from Quinta de Azevedo, Sogrape selects quality grapes and wines from private growers that are also part of GAZELA’S final blend. BRAND VALUES The pressure and intensity of modern life require moments of relaxation in which one can recover strength and enjoy life’s good moments. GAZELA is one such fascinating point of balance, a state of freshness and well-being that re-launches the company of friends, family, joy, passion, in a word, to be at ease with life. Leo Burnett were in charge of GAZELA’S media and outdoor campaigns. Based on the brand’s attributes and on its new packaging, the campaign’s claim arose naturally: “GAZELA goes well with life”. Refreshing, light and young, the campaign aims at creating a flavour-rich drink appeal. The advertising film, in its various formats, recalls things that go well with oneself, with one’s friends, with one’s family, with the seaside, with partying, all things that go well with life. Such as GAZELA. At about 3.5 million euros, this is the largest investment ever in a media campaign for a wine in Portugal, a figure that is even more relevant if seen in the context of the Vinho Verde segment. It is also a reflection of Sogrape's focus on the creation of strong brands. The white peach flavors of this wine are spritzy and fresh. It's pleasantly sweet, finishing clean and bright - as refreshing as mineral water and more fun to drink. Best Buy.

Each year when I once again bring out the rakes, shovels and hoes to the backyard and begin my annual spring clean-up, I chill a couple of bottles of Portugal's most refreshing white wine. Light in both texture and alcohol, it's zesty and mouthwatering, with spritzy acidity and a lemon aftertaste. An ideal afternoon thirst quencher.

A fresh, uncomplicated wine, made and sold in large quantities. There is sweetness, along with clean, easy lemon fruits and a touch of acidity. Don't think, drink.
