Compiled by AegeanCuisine This exquisite wine is the result of George Gavalasʼ love and devotion to wine-making and his continuous efforts to revive the rare, indigenous grape varieties of Santorini. It is a blend of two grape varieties little known outside the island, as they only cover 1% of the total vineyard. The production of Gavalas Katsano is strictly limited.
Our winery is located in Megalochori, and you will get there by walking through a small lit up stone tunnel. The winery is a small museum that tells the three century tradition of the Gavalas family in the winemaking industry. Tours take place from April 15th until the end of October from 10:00 to 20:00.
