Gato Negro Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

An intense, inky red, the Nero d'Avola seductively reveals a gorgeous perfume of blackberry liqueur, white flowers, vanilla, and a hint of figs delivered in a leather basket. On the palate, this wine is opulent, full-bodied and viscous, with a great intensity, superb purity, and a layered, seamless personality that would convince most tasters that this is New World personified. This wine is the perfect accompaniment to hearty stews and roasted lamb and beef.

One of best Bonarda in Oltrepo' pavese ! You can start with a really fresh 2009 till a really serious 2006. The wine becomes less fizzy and bubbling more concentrated. Fresh red fruits are predominant. It' very good with starters and pasta, expecially filled pasta as ravioli ( very typical in the Oltrepo') in a good beef broth or with a stew sauce. Also ideal for bollito misto ( boiled beef, chicken, salami, tongue...). The most interesting in my opinion is a really"natural" flavour is wine made with modern technology but in ancient style !

The first time I had this wine was in 1998. I really like this fruity wine.

This wine is very inexpensive. With that being said it is a lot better than a lot of other wines that sell for more. It's not too oak-ey and not too full bodied. It is a great wine for the price. We regularlybuy this for $6.00.

Couldn't finish the bottle, ended up throwing it out. Didn't pair it with food though.

For an entry level wine this isn't bad. It's great to have a bottle or two in the house for a drink with dinner or while watching a movie and snacking. I agree with the other poster, it goes much better with food. There is nothing special about this wine, but it is tasty enough and easy on the wallet.

Floral aromas of violets and rose petals dance with wild strawberries on the nose of this wine. The mouthfeel, silky and refined, brightens with ripe chokeberry and currant, while touches of pipe tobacco and worn leather round out the sip. French and American oak make a lasting impression, leaving this wine with a balanced finish of toasted spices and refined tannins.- Winery Vineyard Source: Russian River ValleyMontereyClarksburg Barrel Program: 10 months in French and American Oak Wine pH: 3.67Wine Acidity: 0.53g/100mlAlcohol:13.5%

Farbe: Blasses Strohgelb. Persistente feine Perlage.

Pale green appley, grapefruity Grüner with a lively intermingling of crisp acidity and stony minerality. Finishes with a lingering touch of white smoke. Just ideal with green salads, anytime of year!
