The vines average 25 years old. In fact this is everything that N.V. Brut should be. It's silken and fine, full of oleander, pumpernickel and mimosa, and the palate has exceptional grace and detail. And yet again it's the fragrance, only as rendered by the light steely `01, though this is quite dominated by the (very fine) Meunier, which seems to have excelled in this challenging vintage; the wine is as silky and polished as always, just lighter and snappier than usual. 45% Meunier, 35% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir
