Gamble Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc(2005)

rich aromas of orange, lime and grapefruit marmalade, elderflower, honeycomb, jasmine and fig. This Sauvignon Blanc is a finely balanced wine with rich layers of flavor and texture cut with a firm line of citrus fruit acidity. The flavors of warm floral honey, apricot and grapefruit zing. Typical of the Gamble vineyard, flavors are complex and layered, the mouthfeel is full and rich and the finish is clean, crisp and persistant.

Wow. This is one fine Sauvignon Blanc. With aromas of pears, peaches and honeydew, I'm instantly intrigued and wonder if this just may be the cure to my cold! The nose leads nicely into flavors of lemon meringue, sweet melon and delicious peaches. The finish is in keeping with the rest of the package -- lingering flavors of perfectly ripe fruits. A fantastic offering.

I caught a whiff of this wine before actually sticking my nose near the glass and was interested right away! There's some great sauv blanc aromas like grapfruit, honeydew, but also a pinch of yeast/bread and a hint of kiwi... nice! The taste is a great progression from the nose aromas and the mouthfeel is tingly, almost a bubbly sensation, but with a great balance between the first taste, mid-palate, and finish. Each step along the journey is well paced, equally satisfying and not just ONE dominating presence. Awesome!

Frog's Eyes is one of my favorites! But this wine is running a close second! The nose is so full of delicious fruits ranging from kiwi and pineapple to honeydew and even cantaloupe. It starts out tartly with that ripe pineapple and moves into a smooth and rounded mouth feel tinged by a hint of effervescence. It finishes like a lemon drop - not too sweet and not too tart. So fresh and so clean! Even Jocko the Walrus would recommend this wine.

This was a gentle wine, little if any oak and a smooth transition in my mouth. Yeast and apple aromas filled the room as soon as we popped the cork and the flavor of the wine followed through wonderfully.
