The best pinot noir I have tasted from California. Rivals the pinots from the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia and far superior to the Oregon pinots that I have tried

Very fruit laden, powerful cherry and raspberry yet still maintains a certain complexity. Slightly sharp in the finish, this is not a bad Pinot Noir at all but not an amazing one either.

Fruits reminiscient of Russian River Valley, full bodied Pinot with a bright acidity that is sure to mellow out in the next two years. Potential for ageability.

Serves up a tasty core of ripe, plump plum and black cherry, turning round and smooth, with only a mild tannic grip on the finish and a flash of toasty oak. Drink now.

This bright and frisky pinot has no airs about it, just good, fragrant juice, spicy and clean, ready for salmon or steak.

A bit divisive among our panelists, with one finding it rather light and lacking in intensity, while others found virtue in its understated yet varietally correct nature. Cola and cherry flavors finish clean and fresh.

Rich, round black cherry and spice aromas and flavors perfectly balanced with smooth vanilla and oak.

Lovely aromas, flavors and a fine mouthfeel define this rare item - a real Pinot Noir value. Appealing black cherry, earth, and tarragon aromas and flavors keep the taster interested, suggesting a broad range of food pairings, from salmon to lamb. It even offers decent body and length, almost unheard of in this price range.

Well-balanced for the vintage, with tasty plum, black cherry, anise and cola flavors that are focused.

A terrific wine at a giveaway price, this coastal bottling shows a rich, complex texture and is very dry. The flavors unfold one by one on the palate: cherries, cocoa, cola, plums, blackberries and spices are highlighted by a burst of crisp acids.

Winemaker's Notes:

Our Sonoma County Pinot Noir is rich and balanced with red fruit flavors of cherry, blackberry and plum. Its layers unfold to reveal an earthy character and delightful herbal notes, complimented by soft vanilla and a smooth, silky finish. The grapes were destemmed and cold soaked prior to fermentation. During fermentation the enhanced contact between the skins and juice maximizes the red fruit flavors of this varietal. This wine completed malolactic fermentation.
