Gaetano d'Aquino Pinot Grigio Delle Venezie Venezie IGT 2010

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

12% $NA Lots of earthy, dried apple on the nose with hints of pollen and a touch of candied spice. This is fairly round and smooth on entry with good supporting acidity emerging on the mid-palate. It's not as crisp as one might expect from Italian Pinot Grigio, rather soft in fact, but it has some nice citrus rind flavors that add zestiness on the palate. The wine smooths out on the back end before the acidity finally takes over on the finish which shows some citrus fruit and hints of nuts and minerals. Not bad, a bit simple if varietal with lightly spicy apple fruit. The texture is what people should find appealing here, soft, a bit slick, and easy to drink while retaining some refreshing acidity on the finish. 86pts

Hot and floral nose with some peach as well. Palate is a little light, but has some acidic backbone to it. It backs away towards the end, mellowing with some cream and bitter apple.

a minerality to it, spritz like, a little green apple and complementary citrus notes, dry with decent acidity and flavor on the finish

Beautiful color, sweet yet tart. Dried tart fruit. Delicious finish.

Aroma of yeast culture, flowers, and pears. The mouth has broad acidity with a fruit core, which is pretty satisfying. The finish is fairly long and a little metallic.
