This flashy, complex Zinfandel wants to be paired with a burger. It’s just luscious in blackberry jam and teriyaki beef flavors, with tart acidity that can’t wait to bite into greasy protein and fat.
wild berry, clove, cinnamon, and white pepper on the nose with cherry and boysenberry on the palate
A wine that expresses its intensity through complex layers instead of simple, brute power. It is almost impossible to describe the zesty 'fruit bowl' of aromatics: Raspberry? Blackberry? Mulberry? Perhaps razzmatazz berry describes it best. The addition of Petite Sirah underscores the ripe fruit flavors and adds a spicy touch of cardamom and cinnamon. Plush without ever being heavy or harsh.
Frog's Leap Zinfandel is classically styled, with lush layers of wild raspberry and mulberry underscored with a touch of cinnamon and white pepper. The tannins are polished and the texture is plush.
At first, this wine’s dried fruit flavors of figs and dates seem to place it in the Porty side of zinfandel, but there’s a liveliness and a zesty minerality that keeps it grounded and firm. Think granite and pomegranate and you’ll be close to the flavors, their spicy character peppering the smooth, supple texture.
True to our tradition, our 2006 Zinfandel is a field blend that relies on the vitality of zinfandel and the depth of petite sirah for its trademark character. Intense aromas of wild berry and fresh fruit are punctuated by spices that include clove, cinnamon, and white pepper. Lush layers of cherry and boysenberry fill the palate, while the nuances of oak and earth never overwhelm. The wine's bright acid and soft tannins offer a plush, lingering finish. Rich yet quaffable; our 2006 Zinfandel is a wine that both complements a meal and is delicious on its own.
" Our 2010 Zinfandel welcomes you with enticing aromas of cinnamon and clove which underscore layers of brambly fruit and dried cranberries. Luscious flavors of cherry and boysenberry–laced with hints of earth and spice–delight your palate. The resolved tannins and plush texture are balanced by a bright acidity. However, the beauty of this wine is its drinkability and with an alcohol of less than 14% you are assured a perfect partner for your backyard get-togethers." -Winery
