Funky, lambrusco nativey nose, gamey. Richer body. Light-medium sweetness. Wet dog.
We did a wine & food tasting recently and I was surprised how versatile Rieslings can be. This one was not too sweet; it was light, fresh and went very well with a beet salad that we served. Supposedly, Riesling goes with beets, apples, blue cheese, chicken, curries, duck, fish, fruit, ham, pork, salads, scallops, Thai Food, foie gras ... so if you want to experiment with this varietal, this is a great, affordable wine.
