Frias Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain District 2005
From the best lots picked off steep, rocky hillsides of red clay and volcanic ash. This exclusive Cabernet has a sprinkling of juicy, vibrant syrah and merlot to balance. Dense and concentrated, with complex fruit flavors of plum, black currant, dried herbs and cedar finishing with a supple texture and fine tannins.
RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

This under-the-radar Spring Mountain winery has been making fine Cabernets since the early 1990s. James Laube of The Wine Spectator has desfribed the Frias style as "Supple, graceful and complex, with a core of fruit built around plum, black cherry, herb and cedary oak flavors that keep revealing extra nuances."
