This red is ultra firm, yet dense with cherry and plum flavors, augmented by wild herbs and black pepper. Stretched taut and sinewy in texture, but shows character and length, despite the astringent finish. Be patient. Best from 2014 through 2026. 17... Wine Spectator. A Sangiovese Grosso wine from Tuscany in Italy. 2004 Frescobaldi Brunello di Montalcino Castelgiocondo Ripe al Convento Riserva 3000ml

Shows subtle yet intense aromas of blackberry, blueberry and flowers, with a hint of vanilla bean. Full-bodied, with lovely flavors of berry, chocolate and spice that follow through to a firm, racy finish. Best after 2012. 1,085 cases made. Wine Spectator.
