What to Expect

Barbera is one of the classic Grapes of Italy's Piedmont region, though it is popular throughout much of Northwest Italy and has gained a following in California. Searing acidity has been a trait of Barbera though modern viticultural techniques and warmer regions have tamed the acidity, resulting in medium-bodied wines with bright, red fruit tones that feature hints of violets, earth and plum with just a whisper of tannin.

Winemakers Notes

No other winery had produced six straight years of Gold Medal Barbera. We bring you the best Barbera has to offer. It's unique and tasty prominent black cherry flavor is our trademark. French oak aging yields a toasty vanilla hint in the background. Try this wine at dinner with lamb or with traditional marinara dishes. You will enjoy this wine's intensity, fruit flavors and smoothness.
