The very slow and lazy mousse in the glass is surprising as the bubbles seem to diminish to mere pinpoints. The nose is super bright and crisp with elegant layers of hazelnut, toast, yeast, apricot and floral tones. In the mouth this has a very fine mousse, a touch gentle, but it allows the rich, mineral toned, apple, peach and light citron notes to shine. This finishes with excellent persistence and wonderful clarity to the mineral and citrus tones. Quite dry, and even more impressive on the finish for it. Rich, yet refined, and very impressive. 92pts

Rather perfumed on the nose with hints of face powder and violets adding complexity to the apple, dried peach and light orange peel aromas. Very fine bubbles are gentle in the mouth, though this does show some rather obvious sweetness throwing it a touch out of balance. The fruit profile is unusual, offering up hints of blackberries along with the bright citrus and apple fruit. The blackberry notes become more obvious on the back end and through the moderately long finish. Clean, crisp and precise on the finale, this is a fairly large scaled cava. 89pts

Smells really nice, a bit of a herbal grassy note mixed with wild red berries and melon rind. Sweet tasting, with something almost artificial about it. Can sense the yeast, almost yogurty.

I find this cava a bit generic with out any thing special to it...Freixenet gran cuvee does have hints of melon and lemon, but is not something I would run out to the store and buy.

Cava cava cava!!!!Love it cava! this is a nice entry into level cava and a good example of fruit, bubbles and balance.
