Freixenet Brut Cuvee 2010

Light golden in color with lots of medium sized bubbles. The nose is a musty mess with honey, apple and light nut aromas. On the palate it has a fine sparkle and is completely dry. Flavors of honey, green apple, with an lightly creamy texture. The finish is short with green apple lingering for a bit. 3/5 [NR]

Extra Dry is a bit of a misnomer here. Its a decent sparkler, with lots of fruit on the nose, and a round richness. The sugar, while not over powering is clear, and the finish slightly sweet. Nice, and not cloying. Very approachable

Excellent QPR on this nutty, frothy, and citrusy sparkler. Not a harsh, unpleasant note to be found. Definitely a bargain.

Very peachy smell. Sparkly. Very nice and complex flavors. Incredibly drinkable.

White gold in color with medium sized semi-active bubbles. On the nose, I'm primarily hit by pear, bread and raw almond notes. This is a delicate but present flavor. In the mouth, the wine fully coats my tongue, with light flavors of mineral, pear and a touch of bread notes that linger right near the end. Well integrated, good structure, yet not the star of the party.

Pouco frutado no nariz (menos que o esperado). Adstringente. Não muito fácil de tomar sozinho, talvez com alguma fruta critica junto fique melhor.

I have been drinking Freixenet Extra Dry Sparkling Wine (NOT the Brut) for more than 20 years. It is the very best tasting by far in its price range and rivals any other bottle available under $50.00. It is very light and goes with any meal or dessert. I drink it all the time and buy it by the case. I can get it in Virginia for $8 per bottle which is a great deal so a case cost me $100 including tax. A few years ago, just to experiment, I purchased every bottle of sparkling wine $10 and under to see if there was something better tasting out there. I ended up purchasing 17 bottles. A couple of bottles came close but the Freixenet Extra Dry is the best hands down. This is why most people have a bad opinion about Champagne as most don't taste very good. Buy this one, its a bargain and the best by far. Enjoy!!!!
