Frei Bros Russian River Chard 2009
At Frei Brothers Winery, we craft wines in a gentle, traditional style enhanced by the use of modern techniques to produce a wine that is both varietally accurate and reflective of the terroir of the Russian River Valley. Our Chardonnay grapes are whole cluster pressed to eliminate bitterness and maximize fresh fruit characters. The wine completed malolactic fermentation, which resulted in a lush texture and deep, layered flavors that express the terroir of the Russian River Valley.
Interesting portrayal of this famous variety. Typical Chardonnay nose with hints of oak and vanilla. Strikingly sweet taste with hints of tropical fruit and crispiness similar to that of a pinot grio. Very easy drinking wine the reminds me of sitting outside in the sun in summertime.

A racy white, with ripe, lively pear, citrus, honeydew melon and hints of clove and nutmeg. Well-focused on the fruit, which it keeps at the forefront. Drink now through 2008.
A solid Chardonnay that will satisfy fans of the variety. It's a sleekly tart, streamlined wine, with vanilla oak and buttered toast influences acting on the pineapples and green apples. Finishes a little sweet, but crisp.
Polished and sophisticated, with lush green apple, pineapple, buttered toast and cinnamon flavors. Likeable for its balance and sheer drinkability.
