Freemark Abbey Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
92 points Wine Enthusiast: This starts off as black satin, mostly tannin and dark fruit, before air brings up more distinct black cherry and earth in the middle of the wine. The plush texture doesn't get in the way of the firm structure, allowing the wine to build complexity as it develops in the glass. Cellar it for a few years, or decant a bottle for roast leg of lamb. (Dec 2010)
It began over a century ago as a vision shared by a handful of pioneers; those with an intimate knowledge of grapes and a deep respect for the land. This vision took root, was nurtured by skilled hands and ultimately resulted in one of the first premium wineries in the Napa Valley. Today, the wine of Freemark Abbey stands as a testament to what the rich earth of the Napa Valley is capable of creating when working in perfect harmony with nature.

WE 93pts. - With a name like NapaCabs, you'd expect us to have a set of go to Cabs that won't break the bank, and Freemark Abbey's Napa Valley Cabernet has been on our list for the last few vintages. Robert Parker rated this wine 88 points and gave it a drinking window of 10 years... not bad, however we doubt many with have the patience to see this wine wait for a decade. We love this wine for it's balance between fruit and earth characters and excellent structure. Pop a bottle with steak au poivre - feel free to give Christophe a call if you need the recipe.
