Freemark Abbey Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford Bosché Vineyard 1980

Member Review by EMark:

I was gifted this wine by my brother-in-law who found it at an estate sale. So, provenance is questionable. This wine is clearly well on the downward slope. Initial impression is that it is pretty flaccid and a bit tart. Subsequent tastes, though, seem to say to me that there is nothing really all that bad about it. The tartness does seem to diminish, especially when accompanied by noshes of cheese or other small bites. I may not finish the bottle, but I will have another glass or two.

Freemark Abbey Winery:
It began over a century ago as a vision shared by a handful of pioneers; those with an intimate knowledge of grapes and a deep respect for the land. This vision took root, was nurtured by skilled hands and ultimately resulted in one of the first premium wineries in the Napa Valley. Today, the wine of Freemark Abbey stands as a testament to what the rich earth of the Napa Valley is capable of creating when working in perfect harmony with nature.
