Freemark Abbey Cabernet Franc Rutherford Bosché Vineyard 2003
Wine & Spirits Review A lush and round Napa Valley cabernet, this is all about soft ripeness of black fruit and rich, espresso-roast tannin. A pretty floral note adds to the wine's simple, delicious flavor. A steakhouse pour. Wine Tasting Notes The color of this wine is very dark ruby. Soft, dark fruit dominates the aroma, with tobacco and cedar, chocolate, ripe black cherry/berry, plum, and blueberry, followed by a background of violets. Soft, supple, and voluptuous flavors of blueberry pie, black cherry, and chocolate. Velvety tannins, and a big mouthfeel in this gentle giant.
It began over a century ago as a vision shared by a handful of pioneers; those with an intimate knowledge of grapes and a deep respect for the land. This vision took root, was nurtured by skilled hands and ultimately resulted in one of the first premium wineries in the Napa Valley. Today, the wine of Freemark Abbey stands as a testament to what the rich earth of the Napa Valley is capable of creating when working in perfect harmony with nature.
