Freeman Pinot Noir Russian River Valley Keefer Ranch 2010
Editorial Reviews for Freeman Pinot Noir Russian River Valley Keefer Ranch
This just smells gorgeous, all classically pinot-y fruit, a little musk, some lovely damp forest floor notes, fresh cherries and raspberries, some smoke a hint of cola and a gentle lashing of softly ashy, charry wood. Rich and soft on entry, this has gentle tannins with excellent acidity that adds wonderful vibrance to the pure, elegant dark cherry fruit. There’s a touch of vanilla on the back end here but it just adds another nuance to the lovely finish. Really has some strong cherry fruit on the finish with a touch of espresso foam. 92pts
This offers up particularly complex aromas from the glass, with hints of licorice, leather, violet, black berry and currants all rising from the glass. A moderately big wine on entry, this has bright acidity and very round if slightly austere tannins framing the black berry and cherry fruit of the mid-palate. The backend sees significant spice tones emerge and leads to a very aromatic, very long finish, which reveals a hint of vanilla that adds complexity to the long, deep, dark-fruited finish that ends with a wonderfully autumnal spiced cherry note. 91pts
The aromatics are lovely - purple flowers, spicebox, black fruits. Great spice to balance out the fruit on the palate, with bitter earth notes to round it out. Flavors have a lot of room to develop.

Lighter, rather nondescript nose. On the palate, lush strawberry and a hint of blueberry. A pinot of delicate, pretty fruit flavors. Much more feminine style pinot. - Tasted at winery Feb 2011
Has an interesting bacon fat richness woven through o the mid palate.
earthy, cherry, rich, full, plums

Bright red. Deeper and darker in character than the Sonoma Coast bottling, displaying black raspberry, cherry pit and sassafras aromas and flavors. Round and palate-coating, with very good depth and surprising back-end energy. Finishes smooth, sap... Stephen Tanzers IWC. 91 Points Stephen Tanzer:`Bright red color. Exotically perfumed bouquet of red berries cherry compote Asian spices and fresh rose with an emerging floral character that carries onto the palate. Broad flavors of raspberry cherry floral pastille and oak spices offer alluring sweetness. Finishes sweet and gentle with very good persistence.`
