What to Expect

Chardonnay is America's most popular grape and with good reason. Made in styles that range from steely, mineral laced wines with crisp green apple fruit to wines that are buttery, rich, and laden with tropical fruits, there is a Chardonnay that will appeal to every palate. Chardonnay is most closely associated with France's Burgundy region and California's Northern valleys though it has proven successful around the globe.

Winemakers Notes

Notes on the Freeman Chardonnay Ryo-Fu Russian River Valley 2006 : CONNOISSEUR'S GUIDE REVIEW: 89 POINTS Candied apple and lemon-like notes are boosted into richness by a distinct buttery tone in the nose of this agreeable wine. Reviews

Bought two bottles of this wine, and the taste is pretty good. However, there is a grainy sediment in both bottles. According to the winemaker notes the wine is not unfiltered. Sent pictures and email to winery but received no response. Unacceptable for wine at this price.

"Green-tinged straw. Spicy pear and peach pit aromas are underscored by dusty minerals and white flowers. Sharply focused orchard fruit flavors are boosted by tangy minerality and given a bitter edge by pear skin and quinine. A grown-up style, with zero excess fat and excellent finishing cut...91" -IWC 06/08
