Note also that for his 2005 négociant wines, Magnien has simplified them somewhat by adopting certain cuvée names like Coeur des Roches and issuing a number of old vines offerings at the villages level, the latter of which are particularly interesting. And in a few cases, he has replaced the term Vieilles Vignes with the name of a cuvée. Here the nose is a bit fresher but also quite ripe and displaying exotic fruit aromas that complement the full, rich and textured flavors that offer more weight read more...and depth though not much Chablis character. And in a few cases, he has replaced the term Vieilles Vignes with the name of a cuvée. This is also quite fruity with exotic fruit and white flower aromas that give way to big, rich and sleek flavors underpinned by obvious minerality but the finish read more...is a bit one-dimensional. This will probably flesh out and blossom with a year or two in bottle but it's already so forward that it's hard to see a long future ahead. (hide)
