Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Bright on the nose and a bit waxy with some banana aromas floating under the perfumey oak. Entering the mouth with strong lemon curd, melon and peach flavors in a soft, moderately creamy style that is broad in the mouth, this is silky and fairly rich, with lots of flavor but not overpowering weight. The midpalate shows a blip of tannin along with notes of ripe apples and almond butter leading to a nice, long, soft finish. 89pts

If never wanting for ripeness and long on heady young varietal fruit this solid effort plays juicy apples and a streak of caramelly oak against plenty of freshening mildly citrusy acidity. It is fairly full-bodied and starts out on a rounded almost oily note but it never gives in to softness and while a very attractive wine at the moment it has a sense of reserve that bodes well for a few years of keeping. Connoisseurs Guide.

The 2011 Frank Family Vineyards Chardonnay is pale yellow in color and delivers aromas of apricot, apple and pineapple, laced with notes of nutmeg, cinnamon and hazelnut. The palate is bright and elegant, with succulent fruit flavors of baked apples, quince paste and hints of spice. A perfect level of a creamy texture in the mouth, and the bright, fresh acidity give this wine great balance and provides a persistent finish.
