Closed on the nose and a bit inky with slow to emerge black raspberry, currant and pomegranate aromas tinged with a hint of violet and some sweet gum tree notes. A bit thick in the mouth but not heavy, this is kind of silky with rich, lush fruit. There’s enough acid to keep this bright, lending the fruit a touch of a raspberry coulis cast. The tannins are very well managed, keeping this rich yet approachable and letting the toasty, raspberry rugelach flavors ooze over the palate. The finish shows nice shavings of bitter chocolate and wood spice accenting the fruit. Fairly long and a touch sticky on the finale with cinnamon and blueberry grace notes. Culty kind of flavors and feel. 93pts

The reticent nose starts off quite dusty and really tight though develops a jammy hard candy blackberry edge with nuanced ripe green pepper, smoldering herbs, cigar ash and moist dark earth notes rounding out the nose. The sweet attack is backed up by dense, rich fruit yet is not forced feeling. Across the mid-palate there is plenty of structure, and while the wine is fairly tight today there is a lot to like from the melange of fresh cassis fruit and dried wild blackberry tones to the wine’s spice, mint, vanilla and green herbal top notes. Lovely mouthfeel and finish with its cocoa dusted, meaty nuances. Needs 12-18months for the structural elements to fully harmonize. 2011-2020 92pts

Tasted this wine at the Snooth Panel tasting: First wine of the second flight. My favourite wine of this flight. Nice balanced wine with good tannin structure and some spice. Good fruit, mouth feel and consistency.

My pick of the blind tasting - a fantastic wine, very soft, supple, elegant and smooth. Clearly a blend (with some merlot?). Very very nice. Sweet fruit, with some green bell pepper tones which balances it out. Overall I think this was the top, or 2nd to top wine between the 8 of us for the tasting Tasted at the Snooth PTP California Cab blind tasting: http://www.snooth.com/talk/topic/snooth-ptp-california-cabernet

I am a french Canadian and I love good wine. A friend from the state brought a botlle of Cabarnet Sauvignon 2005 as a gift. I usually drink French Grand Cru wine. I was very impress. It has a the nice aroma and texture. This is an excellent wine, to bad we don't have it here in Quebec.

Best bottle of wine I have ever tasted. One left of three. Complex and very long finish.

Juicy red berries, crushed flowers, cloves and a hint of French oak all come together nicely in the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon. A gracious, mid-weight wine, the 2009 should drink well pretty much upon release. Sweet floral notes reappear to frame the feminine, expressive finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012–2019.

Youthful purple color. Spice-accented aromas of cherry, cassis and pipe tobacco, with suave vanilla and Indian spice nuances adding complexity. Offers an array of dark fruit flavors brightened by a sexy floral note and gentle acidity. Smooth and smoky on the persistent finish.

The 2005 Frank Family Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon exposes its depth immediately with its dense dark purple color. The aromas are bountiful, brimming with juicy brambleberries and ripe black cherries that are laced with notes of smoke and roasted espresso and followed by hints of tobacco, earth and cedar. The palate is opulent and intense, bursting with ripe blackberries and currants, with just a touch of sage.
