Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

This wine is special. It has some great aspects already however given more time I think it may improve. Its best suited to an experienced wine drinker since I find the thrid tier flavors and finish really interesting. There are probably less expensive alternatives for newer wine drinkers. I enjoyed the depth of the wine... it really held me captive glass after glass. The nose was spectacular, the kind the hangs around an empty glass... the kind that makes you want more... The actual flavors included a melon and honey component that lasted for ever. In addition I found som peaches and some apple during my travels. The mouth feel is like eating warm butter... thick and inviting... I liked the weight. This is really special stuff for folks that have had tons of other wine in the category. If you are new to wine I'm not sure this is a fit... but if you have tons of corks under your belt I think you'll be impressed. Try it with smoked salmon and boiled shrimp with a fat (butter or cheese).

Spicy citrus and pear aromas are brightened by talc and quinine and lifted by a subtle floral element. Fresh pit fruit flavors combine depth and energy. Finishes with tightly focused lemon pith and salty mineral qualities. This offers excellent precision and verve. - Stephen Tanzer 90 Points ** Only 12 in Stock **
