Francois Montand Blanc de Blancs Jura Brut NV

Winemaker's Notes:

*SALLY EASTON MW REVIEW* "Peach and pear nose and palate, balanced and dry, with hint of lemon curd. Good value for under a tenner...Hard-pressed to find fault at this price. This has more flavour than you might expect for a tenner. Would be great for drinks parties." - Sally Easton MW, November 2016 Made using the Champagne method from Chardonnay, Colombard, and Ugny blanc grapes, this is a classical style of sparkling wine from the Jura which offers excellent value for money. François Montand’s passion for winemaking began in his family’s vineyard in Champagne. During World War II, he decided to make the dangerous journey from the occupied north to Jura which was in the Free Zone, taking a few vines and his knowledge of Champagne with him, and he never looked back. White flowers and citrus fruit offer an elegant nose. The palate is creamy and smooth, with a freshly baked bread note derived from the wines extended ageing. Notes of apple, pear and brioche are also present. Enjoy over the next 2-3 years as an aperitif alongside amuse-bouches.
