A bit toasty, smoky, and spicy on the nose with underlying notes of dried orchard fruits. In entry this shows good balance for a rather big boned style of Chardonnay. The fruit is marked by wood spice and vanilla but is rich enough and deep enough to keep things balanced. There’s some interesting licorice spice notes across the palate and a buttery edge that extends through the moderately long finish. This is rich and powerful, suitable for pairing with a fairly rich, highly seasoned dish, perhaps some with an Asian bent to the seasoning. 89pts

Big full taste - Oaky and creamy. Very good
Smokey nose...pepper/vanilla cream taste...maybe a bit of red pepper, without being too spicy? Creamy....rounding out the slight oak taste. A wonderful Napa chardonnay, without being too "oaky". Medium body....that 13.5% alcohol could be a bit lower, though. Wonderful dinner choice!

Rich, ripe and exotic, it strikes a wonderful balance of ripe Napa Valley fruit with nuances of oak from 100% barrel fermentation and extended barrel age. Use of wild yeast in a portion of the blend adds layers of complexity. Ripe, generous aromas of apple, pear, and honey with toasty oak. Complex and concentrated; an intriguing blend of power and finesse. Elements of nutmeg and sweet spice complement the rich fruit.
