Franciscan Chardonnay 2009
Very good. Oaky buttery with a taste of pears. After a time in the glass it got softer
An excellent value at $16, this Napa Chardonnay is buttery and lightly oaked with sophisticated crisp acidity. Not overly fruity, subtle pear flavors underlie a smooth clean flavor profile with lingering notes of vanilla.

Tight, youthful and taut, with a rich, complex core of pear, spice, honey and toast flavors. Tastes young and tight now, but the flavor profile is impressive; should become more forward and attractive with a little age and hold well through 1995.
Ripe and oaky, with intense fig, pear, vanilla and spice notes that hang together nicely. Has plenty of flavor, drinks well now, but may be more interesting by mid-1993.
Intense, with ripe flavors of pear, citrus, butter and minerals, finishing with a pleasant vanilla note.
Well proportioned, with a nice interplay of ripe pear, apple and melon and floral notes. Quite appealing though lacking the extra dimensions to be outstanding. Drink now through 2001.
Nicely integrated apple and butter aromas on the nose. Clean, full-spectrum fruit shines, with apple and citrus prevailing. Good fruit-to-acid balance. Finishes long and tangy. Solid and stylish.
Deftly balanced, with a pretty band of ripe pear, spice, citrus and light oak shadings, gaining depth and complexity on the finish.
Ripe apple, pear, honey and rich buttery flavors balanced with crisp acidity, attractive length and a clean finish.
