Comparable to the St. Francis Old Vines Zin from Sonoma County. Coppola knows how to get a wine done properly. Director's cut rocks the under $20 Zin bin. Funny thing is, Rosenblum gets it done for half the price!

It's wrong those grapes percentages: Blend: 92% Zinfandel, 6% Petite Sirah and 2% Primitivo

We blended our Zinfandel with a small amount of Petite Sirah. Half the fruit was crushed whole berry and the must is fermented in open-top fermenters for eight days, with punch downs three times a day, to ensure maximum flavor and color extraction.

Round, with good concentration to the vanilla, cocoa, plum and dried currant flavors. Framed by modest tannins. Drink now through 2004.

A fun Zinfandel thatrsquo;s jammy and juicy, with aromas of blackberry cobbler and spice and ripe flavors that offer just enough complexity to keep this interesting. Drink now.

Winemaker's Notes: Our Diamond Zinfandel is an expression of several unique appellations and one incredible vintage. From our Hog's Canyon vineyard in Paso Robles comes fruit that was highly concentrated as a result of dry summer temperatures that exceeded 95F. At the other end of the appellation, we sourced from a vineyard comprised of gravely clay loam soils similar to those of Australia's Barossa Valley. This fruit was blended with grapes from our Sonoma County vineyards, which typically provide very high-quality fruit that ripens evenly and exudes immense character and flavor. Finally, we added an extra layer of complexity by blending in a small amount of Petite Sirah. The resulting wine has a solid structure and mature tannins to give balance to Zinfandel's inherently "jammy" nature.

Exudes a brilliant ruby color and intense aromas of ripe red currants, exotic spices and crème brûlèe. Flavors of raspberry, blackberry and luscious dark fruit fill the palate, while a hint of cracked black pepper enlivens the smooth finish. Enjoy this wine on its own or serve it with braised ribs or wild mushroom risotto.
