Food Pairings for Francis Ford Coppola Zinfandel California Diamond Collection Red Label
Very nice! - Tasted at winery Feb 2011
Very present grape. Plum👍
Comparable to the St. Francis Old Vines Zin from Sonoma County. Coppola knows how to get a wine done properly. Director's cut rocks the under $20 Zin bin. Funny thing is, Rosenblum gets it done for half the price!
It's wrong those grapes percentages: Blend: 92% Zinfandel, 6% Petite Sirah and 2% Primitivo

Appearance Deep purple garnetAromas Strawberry jam, briary blackberries, toasted oakFlavors Raspberries, plums, cloves, and creme brulee
We blended our Zinfandel with a small amount of Petite Sirah. Half the fruit was crushed whole berry and the must is fermented in open-top fermenters for eight days, with punch downs three times a day, to ensure maximum flavor and color extraction.
Round, with good concentration to the vanilla, cocoa, plum and dried currant flavors. Framed by modest tannins. Drink now through 2004.
A fun Zinfandel thatrsquo;s jammy and juicy, with aromas of blackberry cobbler and spice and ripe flavors that offer just enough complexity to keep this interesting. Drink now.
Winemaker's Notes: Our Diamond Zinfandel is an expression of several unique appellations and one incredible vintage. From our Hog's Canyon vineyard in Paso Robles comes fruit that was highly concentrated as a result of dry summer temperatures that exceeded 95F. At the other end of the appellation, we sourced from a vineyard comprised of gravely clay loam soils similar to those of Australia's Barossa Valley. This fruit was blended with grapes from our Sonoma County vineyards, which typically provide very high-quality fruit that ripens evenly and exudes immense character and flavor. Finally, we added an extra layer of complexity by blending in a small amount of Petite Sirah. The resulting wine has a solid structure and mature tannins to give balance to Zinfandel's inherently "jammy" nature.
"The fruit for the Coppola Petite Sirah Diamond 2008 wine is grown in diverse regions throughout California. Immense color saturation and intense aromas of sweet
Exudes a brilliant ruby color and intense aromas of ripe red currants, exotic spices and crème brûlèe. Flavors of raspberry, blackberry and luscious dark fruit fill the palate, while a hint of cracked black pepper enlivens the smooth finish. Enjoy this wine on its own or serve it with braised ribs or wild mushroom risotto.
87 points Wine & Spirits: Round and soft, with sweet fruit and eucalyptus notes, this is a zin to pour with slow-braised pork. (Feb 2011) 89% Zinfandel, 11% Petite Sirah. A Zinfandel that pushes the envelope of decadence with voluptuous, concentrated flavors of fruit jam, chocolate and vanilla.
