Food Pairings for Francis Ford Coppola Riesling Monterey County Sofia
Editorial Reviews for Francis Ford Coppola Riesling Monterey County Sofia
Peaches and cream, apples with some spice tones and honey all comes together on the appetizing nose. This is a touch sweet on entry without sufficient acidity to brighten the palate so this remains a bit sweet right through the modest finish. Don't get me wrong, there is some acid here, and the flavors of apples, honey, and pineapple are attractive, it's just that this has no definition in the mouth and limps to a modest finish. 83pts
Tasted at UNLVino 4/10/10
A medium-bodied Chard with nice oak and some appley citrus flavors. Heavy and round enough to pair well with anything buttery, but not too rich on its own.
Nice medium-body Chardonnay best tasted at slightly under room temperature.
Highly disappointing. Tasted cheap and brash. Smell and presentation were okay. But taste was more bitter than expected for a Riesling.

Lush pineapple, orange marmalade and Granny Smith apple flavors, concluding in a light, buttery finish.
Sweet oak brings richness to the ripe apple flavors in this wine. It stays balanced through the finish, with lasting melon and spice. For roast chicken.
Hints of mineral and buttery oak dance along round apple and pear flavors. You can find adequate spice and a crisp, clean, sustained finish, all warmed by the apple pie zing of cinnamon.
Our Chardonnay reflects the distinctive personality of Monterrey vineyards, which boast juicy apple, guava and melon flavors. Whole-cluster pressing and a combination of barrel and stainless steel fermentation ensures that the creamy texture and caramelized sugar finish is balanced by a crisp acidity. - Winery
Here's a nice, bright Chardonnay that can be described as Chablisian. It's bone dry and very bright in tangy acidity, with a squirt of lime juice over Meyer lemons, pineapples and green apples. A touch of oak adds just the right note of buttered toast. Easy to find, with 73,000 cases produced.
This world-famous producer's Diamond Series Chardonnay shows juicy apple, guava, and melon flavors with a creamy texture.
The Sofia Riesling has an alluring personality, showing off full, ripe fruit flavors that are contrasted by a vibrant acidity. This vintage offers an intoxicating perfume of pears, minerals, and apricots along with luscious flavors of white peaches, green apples, and a hint of pineapple.
The 2009* vintage presented extremely desirable conditions, which resulted in exceptional fruit quality. This year’s Sofia Riesling boasts vibrant fruit flavors that are perfectly balanced by a good measure of minerality and natural acidity. Beautiful tropical fruit aromas and notes of honeysuckle are followed by luscious flavors of apple, peach, pineapple, and tangerine.
