Fruit-forward, lushly-textured Pinot Noir expressive of sunny days and cool Pacific nights. Purple garnet in color. Aromas of raspberries, rose petals and tea leaves, and flavors plums, strawberries and allspice.
Our 2010 Director's Pinot Noir offers an exquisite fragrance of raspberries, roses and tea leaves, plus ripe, luscious flavors of cherries, strawberries, allspice and oak. Rich and complex, each taste deepens and builds, eliciting subtle notes of exotic sandalwood. Winemaker's Notes:We pick our Monterey County Pinot Noir in the early morning hours and bring the fruit inside for immediate crush and 48-hours of cold soak. This technique helps intensify the color and elicit more profound aromas. During fermentation, the grapes are punched down four times a day to extract the maximum amount of flavor and just the right amount of tannin. The wine is then aged in small French oak barrels. In 2010, we harvested weeks later than normal due to the chilly spring and mild summer months. Because the fruit wasn't picked until well into the fall, the grapes received extended hangtime on the vines, which resulted in a beautiful concentration of flavors and more profound aromatics. With our 2010 Diamond Collection Pinot Noir you'll experience a silky texture, beautiful bouquet, and dark juicy fruit impressions. Pairs perfectly with pork tenderloin and cherries, barbecued salmon or stuffed Portabello mushrooms. - WineryTasting Profile:Appearan...

Winemaker NotesThis vintage of Director's Pinot Noir blends grapes from Carneros, which produces fruit with spice and earth notes, with grapes from the Russian River Valley, an area known for creating rich, dense wines noted for bright cherry and cranberry flavors. As a result of combining fruit from two appellations, we designate this wine "Sonoma Coast." Both of these regions experience a cool climate and fog that rolls in from the coast, conditions that favor Pinot Noir. Once our fruit is placed in tanks after harvest, we perform punch downs each day in our open-top fermenters in order to coax from our grapes as much color and flavor as possible. Because this wine represents optimal vintage conditions, it's even more deeply colored and dense than last vintage. - Winery Tasting NotesOur 2009 Director's Pinot Noir boasts an intense perfume of fresh strawberries, orange peel and tea leaves, while the silky texture accentuates sweet, luscious flavors of...
