Wine Tasting Notes Our Francis Ford Coppola Director's Chardonnay is lavishly fruity, round and lush. Endowed with a soft, velvety palate and ripe citrus perfume, this wine has mouthwatering flavors of melon, pear, clove and vanilla. Pair with crab legs, chicken pot pie, or a grilled cheese panini.

Yummy with Italian dinner outdoors.
A solid Chardonnay. I liked the overall balance. It had a mineral and grass aroma and just enough of classic Chardonnay “butter taste” without it being cloying. There was oak and a dry finish that makes it go well with opinionated foods. The grapes that go into this wine are not from any single vineyard. That might explain a lack of any particular character unique to the wine. For a California Chardonnay in this lower to mid price range it is a solid buy.

A very interesting Chardonnay, and easily worth the price. It was fermented in 50% new French oak, which gives it a creamy, smoky richness, while the underlying fruit flavors are ripe and rewarding, suggesting pineapples, Asian pears, green apples and Meyer lemons. A beautiful, complex and balanced wine.
Lush pineapple, orange marmalade and Granny Smith apple flavors conclude with a light buttery finish.
