- Why does merlot get treated this way? Personally, I like merlot and this is a fine example of the style at a very reasonable price. Blue Label's (although I prefer the OTHER Blue Label of Johnnie Walker fame) medium body is accented with a good mix of berry, fruit and cherries. It is a little smokey and spicy and finishes smooth and velvety. This versatile wine will go fine with both fruit and cheese as well as a great steak.

- This Merlot boasts a deep purple color and enticing aromas of ripe blueberry, currant, and spice. The palate offers succulent flavors of dark juicy plums, crushed blackberry, and eucalyptus, while the small addition of Syrah adds just a hint of warm spice. Careful aging in small French oak barrels provides a back drop of sweet vanilla, followed by round, luxurious tannins.

- Merlot is known for its sweet blueberry aromas and this one has it. The aromatics tell so much about a wine; its ripeness and its intensity. There are great aromas of berries and baked blackberry pie. The palate has the identifiable Merlot raspberry and dense blue fruits on the finish. The wine has been aging in French oak for 12 months and it has imparted as stylish, toasty quality and elegant structure that supports the wines lengthy finish.
