What to Expect

The classic Bordeaux blends rely on either Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon for the bulk of the wine with additions of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec helping to add complexity, color, body and structure to the finished wine.

Francis Coppola Diamond Collection Claret, as its British-derived name implies, is made in the same style as Bordeaux's finest Medoc type wines. A Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine blended with all five Bordeaux varietals, this wine exhibits an exceptional depth and truly unique flavors. In honoring the authenticity and heritage of wines made in this style by Captain Niebaum himself from California vineyards dating back to 1910, we call our wine-Claret.

Francis Coppola Diamond Collection Black Label Claret, as its British-derived name implies, is Cabernet Sauvignon-based and made in the same style as Bordeaux's finest wines. A blend of the classic Bordeaux varietals - Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc - Francis Coppola Diamond Claret is supple and rich with smooth tannins, ripe berry flavors, and seductive aromas. Tradition is a great guide for pairing it with food: savor it alongside grilled lamb chops with a mustard-herb rub or beef tenderloin with a pan sauce made with red wine.
