The nose here is rather fine with light mint, wild herbs, jammy raspberry and lingonberry notes. On the palate, this comes off as rather cool, crisp and focused with fine balance to the herbal notes that sit atop the core of sour and slightly bitter cherry fruit. There’s a really fine acid/tannin balance here. This shows good power on the back end and onto the long, perfumed finish. Exhibits great cut and precision to the flavors with a wonderfully engaging texture. 93pts

Nebbiolo Prima - Giuseppe Rinaldi Cannubi- San Lorenzo – Ravera Barolo - deep liquory fruit, earth, herb, flowers and fine sweet but astringent small red fruits, currants, a bit loose on entry but very open with aromatic wild berry fruit, nice firm mp, ripe tannins, integrated acids, nice fruit on the backend then fairly tight on the finish , nice ripe fruit tannins, easy to drink if young 8

Starting with this young pup we exercized our sense with it's typical notes of sour cherry, leather, birch barch, and sandy soil tones all edged in a slight funk. Medium full in the mouth with great acidity for a 90 and still lots of bristling tannins to challange the palate and absolutely slam down on the finish. The mid-palate has a great front end with tons of strawberry fruit and dark tarry notes that extend with time and finishing with a subtle finale of pine cone and church candle this has all the goods to be an excellent bottle but it needs time, say 2012-2028

Apon pouring there was a note of sour maderization with very strong notes of porcini, light hints of soy and lilac. This really went through an evolution as the nose added tar, sand, light strawberry jam notes, then turned more autumnal adding damp cigar, cigarette smoke, boullion cube and coal to sweetening, candied raspberry fruit. Opens with real upfront bottle sweetness but not alot of fruit, instead alot of bleached bones and boiled pig skin, a hint of caramel, still some stiff tannins with a drying, clipped finish. With time this comes together nicely with integrated acidity, good medium deoth of savory fruit, solid tannins. Certainly austere with fading red fruits and spicy minerality dominating the palate. Lacks some finesse and depth. This seems to be a less than perfect bottle.

A ripe, sweet cherry and raspberry-flavored red, accented by flowers, white pepper and cinnamon. Generous and vibrant, with a pleasant hint of astringency on the finish. Very elegant, in a traditional style where finesse meets intensity. Best from 20... Wine Spectator. A Nebbiolo wine from Piedmont in Italy. 2007 Giuseppe Rinaldi Barolo Brunate le Coste 750ml
